Fans of the hit show Flight of the Conchords will be happy to hear that the release of season 2 on DVD will be here August 4th. For those of you that have not seen an episode, I am here to tell you a little something about this absolutely funny and unique show, that will have you wanting more after watching one episode.
It is a show that follows the life of Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, a two man digi-folk band from New Zealand. The two move to New York City for a chance for fame and each show focuses on the trials and tribulations that they face along the way, in a very hysterical manner.
Now, although I thoroughly enjoyed the first season and laughed hysterically at all the songs, I sometimes felt that they were far from the plot and just thrown into the story. This was not the case with the second season of the show, making it a smoother and more enjoyable viewing experience, for me anyway. The songs in season 2 were written specifically for the story lines and fit well with the plots for each show.
This show is an HBO favorite and has excellent ratings as the subtle humor mixed with the occasional improv from the duo, has fans rolling over with laughter. The release date for the second season on DVD was scheduled even before the first episode aired, having many fans waiting a long time for their copies to arrive in the mail.
Plus it is great to have the shows you love on DVD so you can watch them over and over, but also so you get all those extras from the show that you don't get on live TV. This DVD is jam packed with extras like 23 minutes of deleted scenes, 8 minutes of outtakes, some Dave's Pawn Shop commercials and a 30 minute bonus: Flight of the Conchords, Taking Off. The addition of these extras makes this DVD definitely worth the buy.
